{"id":1597,"date":"2017-07-01T16:55:53","date_gmt":"2017-07-01T20:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vapc.org\/?p=1597"},"modified":"2017-09-20T14:15:25","modified_gmt":"2017-09-20T18:15:25","slug":"celebrate-80-years-nfpw-annual-communications-conference-alabama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vapc.org\/vapc\/celebrate-80-years-nfpw-annual-communications-conference-alabama\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate 80 Years of NFPW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"tx\">The annual NFPW Communications Conference will include a celebration of NFPW&#8217;s 80th anniversary, <\/span><span class=\"tx\">and workshops on creative non-fiction with Pulitzer-prize winning author Rick Bragg; how to talk about <\/span><span class=\"tx\">your book on television; copyrights and trademarks; monetizing your blog; tightening your writing for <\/span><span class=\"tx\">busy readers; the future of community newspapers; changes in the AP Stylebook, and a panel on <\/span><span class=\"tx\">covering racially-charged events and situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s conference will be held in Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 7-9. A pre-tour, Rockin\u2019 Rockets, is slated <span class=\"tx\">for Sept. 3-5. A post tour, Sept. 10-13, will be a literary pilgrimage. Longtime member Verna Gates is <\/span><span class=\"tx\">planning the tours.
