{"id":2256,"date":"2019-04-29T20:06:41","date_gmt":"2019-04-30T00:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vapc.org\/?p=2256"},"modified":"2019-04-29T20:18:07","modified_gmt":"2019-04-30T00:18:07","slug":"contest-winners-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vapc.org\/vapc\/contest-winners-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Contest Winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Virginia Communications Professionals Honored At State and Local Level For Writing, Photography and More<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>Winners of Annual Communications Contest Announced<\/p>\n<p><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The National Federation of Press Women Professional Communications Contest honors communicators throughout the United States for their professional work during the previous year. The two-tiered contest is open to anyone over the age of 18 regardless of age, gender, professional status, or location.<\/p>\n<p>The first tier of the contest is run at the state level, in this case Virginia Professional Communicators. First-place winners at the state level move on to the national contest.<\/p>\n<p>VPC contest winners were honored during the group\u2019s spring conference April 27.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe winners were selected by 14 professional judges, whose expertise spans everything from poetry to media relations,\u201d said Julie Campbell, VPC\u2019s contest chair. \u201cThe judges evaluated 84 entries submitted by 20 contestants. Descriptions of the winning work included the adjectives \u2018fascinating,\u2019 \u2018engaging,\u2019 \u2018relevant,\u2019 \u2018clever\u2019 and \u2018genuine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The final results included the following 19 contestants with 66 winning entries:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bonnie Atwood<br \/>\n<\/strong>Richmond, Virginia<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First place, Specialty
