Virtual Assistants, Marketing, and Media <\/h4>\n\n\n\n


VPC’s Board has lined up a great day of networking opportunities and speakers for our fall 2022 conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1:30-5 p.m. at Libbie Mill Library in Richmond. We previously held our fall conference at this location in 2019, and it’s a wonderful and inviting space. The cost is $20. Register today<\/a>. Jill Vaughan<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jill Vaughan founded JLV Communications in June 2019. She has more than 25 years of communications and leadership experience in consumer products, economic development, government, and gaming. She started her career at a boutique PR firm in Fairfax and spent 22 years serving in communications leadership roles at the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Virginia Lottery. Jill\u2019s work at the Lottery won two Silver Anvils from the Public Relations Society of America, the highest national honor for the association. Jill and her firm currently assist government, corporate, small business, and non-profit clients. As a new agency, JLV Communications was recognized with six Virginia PR Awards in 2021, including the top Award of Excellence in the Integrated Communications Campaign category. In 2022, Jill was a finalist for the NAWBO Richmond Rising Entrepreneur of the Year award, and she raised more than $63,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a Woman of the Year candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Thinking Outside the Book(store): How to Find Readers in a Crowded Market<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Face<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Face’s first book debuted in September 2020 when the pandemic forced bookstore closures and limited in-person events. Still, she found a way to reach readers, sell books, and find joy in the launch experience. This session will focus on creative book marketing through the best of times and the worst of times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Face is the author of the award-winning collection I Love You More Than Coffee: Essays on Parenthood<\/em>, published Sept. 1, 2020, and I Love You More Than Coffee: A Guided Journal for Moms <\/em>(Sept. 13, 2022). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her writing has appeared in numerous local and national publications, including Richmond Family Magazine<\/em>, Tidewater Family Magazine,<\/em> Charlottesville Family Magazine<\/em>, Scary<\/em> Mommy<\/em>, Motherscope<\/em>, The<\/em> Myrtle Beach Herald<\/em>, Guideposts<\/em>, Country Woman<\/em>, Farm & Ranch Living<\/em>, Prairie Times<\/em>, Boomer Magazine<\/em>, Sasee<\/em> Magazine, Nine Lives: A Life in Ten Minutes Anthology<\/em>, Parhelion Literary Magazine<\/em>, and twenty-six volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Arts in human resources development from Webster University. Melissa holds teaching certifications in English, special education and gifted education and is a proud member of James River Writers, Hampton Roads Writers, and Virginia Professional Communicators.
