She served as president of VPC from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2017 to 2018. In 2014, she was selected as VPC\u2019s Communicator of the Year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have gotten so much from this organization, professional development as well as delightful friendships,\u201d Julie said. \u201cMy fellow board members are thoughtful and dedicated. Thanks, NFPW, for your confidence in us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to her achievements with VPC and NFPW, Julie is an award-winning freelance writer, editor and author who has written two books. Her first book, &#8220;Studies in Arizona History,&#8221; was published in 1998. Her second, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/click.mlsend.com\/link\/c\/YT0yMjQ3MjM1NzE2NDU3MTc0NDg3JmM9czhkNCZlPTEwMTkwNyZiPTExNjQ1ODIwMTEmZD13OHc3bDZh.iqFgoEx6HvNzZ87DtOMaof1ykhliZZI5sEUqLbO5x7c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Horse in Virginia: An Illustrated History<\/a>,\u201d won the People\u2019s Choice Award for Nonfiction at the Library of Virginia\u2019s 14th Annual Literary Awards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julie previously held positions at Washington and Lee University, where she was the associate director of communications and public affairs, and at the Library of Virginia, where she was the editor of Virginia Cavalcade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julie will be the third Virginian to serve as president of NFPW: Cynthia Price was president from 2009 to 2011 and Ulrich Troubetzkoy held the post from 1967 to 1969.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VPC member Julie Campbell was elected president of the board of directors of the National Federation of Press Women. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3104,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":true,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3103","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
