Communications Contest Open for Business

By Julie Campbell, past president and contest chair

Yes, friends, as announced in the October issue of NFPW’s E-Letter, the 2020 VPC Communications Contest is open for business — with a new, improved entry software to boot.

Click here to get started. You’ll find all the categories and requirements, plus info on important dates, fees, and so on.

To quote VPC member Bonnie Atwood on her Facebook page, “I just entered the VPC contest & it was E-Z!!!!!”

Here are the key details:

  • Entries must be published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2019. Entries are open to all ages.
  • The early deadline to submit entries — and avoid a one-time additional fee of $25 per entrant — is Jan. 28, 2020. The final deadline for books is Feb. 4, and the final deadline for all other entries is Feb. 11.
  • First-place winning entries in the VPC contest are eligible to advance to the national competition. To enter the national contest, entrants must already be NFPW members, or must join by March 15, 2020. (There is an exception for some co-entrants. Ask me for details.)
  • National winners will be announced in April 2020 and honored on June 20, 2020, at an awards dinner in Little Rock, Arkansas, during the annual NFPW Conference.
