VPC members shine as NFPW announces 2020 national communication contest winners

Outstanding communications entries from throughout the U.S. have won honors in the 2020 National Communications Contest sponsored by the National Federation of Press Women, and Virginia Professional Communicators is well-represented.

Nearly 300 professional communicators earned honors during a virtual celebration on June 6, 2020. The awards celebration was originally scheduled during the annual conference, to be held this year in Little Rock, Arkansas. But because of the pandemic, NFPW had to cancel the conference, so the organization hosted a virtual celebration.

This year was super competitive. More than 1,800 entries were submitted in this year’s contest. This was an increase of over 200 entries from the 2019 contest.

First-place winners at the state level, which we announced previously, advanced to the national contest. Fourteen VPC members were recognized at the national level, which included seven 1st-place awards. Congratulations to all the VPC members who were honored.
